Council on Corporate Aboriginal Relations

Who We Are

The Council on Corporate Aboriginal Relations (CCAR) provides Corporate Aboriginal Relations Executives a chance to share insights and best practices on issues related to building and managing core-relationships with Aboriginal communities, organizations and businesses.  Twice a year the Council engages in frank, candid conversations, offering members the opportunity to build trusted relationships with other leaders who represent various sectors and organizations.  Since the mid-1990s we have covered emerging topics such as: corporate citizenship and Aboriginal relations; duty to consult and accommodate; corporate Aboriginal business partnerships; and corporate engagement in Aboriginal economic development.  Benefits of membership in CCAR include:

•      Receiving direct feedback from peers on the corporate Aboriginal relations issues you face;
•      Accessing practical ideas about how your organization can develop and maintain effective corporate Aboriginal relations;
•      Gaining insights from Aboriginal leaders on current Aboriginal issues;
•      Obtaining current information on the activities conducted by all levels of government related to Aboriginal issues and relations; and
•      Hearing from thought leaders about their latest findings on issues, trends and best practices.

Current members include Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal corporate executives from the private and public sectors across Canada. For a list of members, please click here.
